The final meeting of the collaborative project “A Global Approach to the Gender Gap in Mathematical, Computing and Natural Sciences: How to Measure It, How to Reduce It?” (2017-2019), funded by the International Council for Science, took place on 4-8 November 2019 at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP). The project is the collaboration of eleven major scientific international unions and organizations.
During the week-long meeting the findings, discussions, conclusions and recommendations of the project were communicated to a large audience of over 80 participants.
The program of the conference can be accessed here: http://indico.ictp.it/event/8731/other-view?view=ictptimetable. Social media reactions to the conference can be followed in Twitter via hashtag #GenderGapInSTEM: https://twitter.com/hashtag/GenderGapInSTEM
In the next weeks a final report on the deliverables of the project will be published and made available to the broader public.
Plans for continuing with the project work in the upcoming years, in particular support to maintain accessibility to the interactive resources created as a result of the various project tasks, are currently under discussion.
We thank all participants to the conference as well as the speakers and organizing and supporting unions for their interest in the project’s topic.
