Please help us by inviting your contacts to complete the survey; promotional materials about the project can be found here.
Answers from male colleagues are particularly welcome in Africa and Oceania (see figures above).
Five months after the opening of the 2018 Global Survey of Mathematical, Computing, and Natural Scientists, about 20 000 answers have already been collected, yet we were aiming at reaching 45 000 respondents. During the two last months of opening of the survey, focused efforts must therefore be made in all geographical zones and all disciplines to reach our target.
The geographical zones where special efforts are needed are North America and Eastern Europe, as well as Asia.
The following map shows the number of respondents to the survey by country, although it is somewhat misleading, since it shows absolute rather than normalized figures.
The seemingly numerous answers from the US, India or China are not so when compared to their population or number of scientists. The second map showing proportional figures makes this clearer.
The disciplines where special efforts are needed are Chemistry and Biology.
If you are interested in specific information about the responses in your country or your discipline please contact us.
Please note: It may happen that a respondent belongs to a country whose name does not appear on the list of countries provided. If the country of the respondent does not appear in the list, please skip the question (all questions in the survey are optional) and name the country in the comments box for the last question.
